Midnight Flyer - A Brief History

"Steady" Ed Headrick released the Midnight Flyer, the original disc designed specifically for the sport of Disc Golf, in 1978. The glow properties of the original Midnight Flyer not only opened up the ability to play disc golf at night but more significantly added substantial weight to the disc making it an immediate player favorite. The added weight gave players the ability to throw much farther distances, and for years the Midnight Flyer held the distance record for disc flight. The original Midnight Flyers were sold in sets of 8 discs and are highly prized collectibles to this day.

Midnight Flyers Today

DGA introduced a new Midnight Flyer series in 2013, on the 35th anniversary of the original launch. The DGA Squall was selected to be the first in the series, using current flying disc technology as a way to honor the legacy of these legendary discs. To date, five different discs have been released in the new Midnight Flyer series, with the Quake now being #6.

It is time to add some reliability to your midrange game, and DGA has you covered. The DGA Quake is overstable and trustworthy in all wind conditions. This mid will hold a consistent flight path when thrown both backhand and forehand. It features a super comfortable rim and very flat top, which ensures an easy release for all hand sizes. The Quake will fill a void in anyone’s bag who gives it a throw. Keep your midrange game consistent and simple, with the DGA Quake.

Flight Numbers: 5/3/0/3

DGA ProLine plastic blends are tough, and grippy and have incredible performance. ProLine discs are the workhorses used by both the DGA ProLine and Arm Farm Teams. The DGA ProLine plastic is recommended for players that are looking for more grip and durability balanced with high-performance flight qualities. ProLine style plastic will take less time to beat in and will get its intended flight characteristics faster than the SP Line. ProLine plastic is DGA’s middle-tier plastic blend and is great for players of all skill levels!

Note: The glow effect in the image is for demonstration purposes only and the actual glow hue may vary slightly.
