2010 FLORIDA STATE USDGC QUALIFIER

The Florida State USDGC Qualifier will take place on Saturday, August 7th at Pine Oaks Disc Golf Course in Ocala, FL. Outside of running a qualifier, the most radical difference than previous years is that the event is essentially creating a "pecking order" for the available spot. This is done to maximize the representation of Florida players at the USDGC by elimintaing players from the list as they qualify in other ways i.e exemptions, tournaments, etc. The winner of the spot will be announced AFTER the Southern Nationals Championships on Labor Day weekend to see if any Florida players secure a spot through that tournament. The format will be (1) round of 18 holes, with only the top (4) players moving on to play a second round of 18 holes. The course for the event will use the new 18-hole gold tee layout, which will be the same layout used for the 2010 Players Cup Match Play Championship on November 19-21. Field limit is (72) players.
The event is open to Florida residents that wants to take a chance to qualify for this prestigious event, but must be committed to attending once the winner is announced. If the winner cannot attend, the spot will then move down until a committed player is found. In addition to qualifying, the winner will have their $230 entry fee paid for and depending on quantity of registrations, will also be eligible to have some travel expenses covered. Non-Florida residents are not eligible for this event.
All registrations must be completed online or by calling Sun King Disc Sports at 941.894.0928. The cutoff for registering is Friday, August 6th at 5:00pm EST and there will be no "day of" registrations. Entry fee includes $3 processing fee and $2 greens fees. The entry fees are $35 for Florida residents. $10 of each entry will go to a seperate cash payout that all participants are eligible for. The cash payout will be based exclusively on the first round scores. The USDGC qualifying will use scores from both rounds.
Pre-Qualified Players: Florida players that have already qualified for the USDGC and are only eligible for the cash payout at this event are Ken Climo, Gregg Hosfeld, John E. McCray, Garrett Gurthie and Chris Lenkiewicz.

Players that are not checked in by 10:00am will forfeit their tournament spot, but will receive a refund. Course open at 7am for practice play.
