Detailed Description
2010 Tour del Sol Disc Golf Series
Sponsored By:
Sun King Disc Sports, Innova Disc Golf, E.D.G.E., Disc Golf United, Keen Footwear and Maui Jim Sunglasses.

The 2010 Tour del Sol Disc Golf Series is a 8-city tour of one-day, two round tournaments which will focus on bringing out new players to participate in an organized event and also to educate players through putting and driving clinics demonstrated by local and regional professional Disc Golf players.

In addition, there will be CTP (closest to the pin) prizes and a Ring of Fire competition with the winners taking home a selection of prizes supplied by the Tour del Sol sponsors.

All of this action and excitement is included with the $22 entry fee (all online entries subject to a $3.00 processing fee) and all registered Amateur players will also receive a players package valued at $20 and includes (1) brand new Innova golf disc just for signing up!

The Tour del Sol Disc Golf Series is specifically designed to help local Disc Golf clubs grow the sport from the most simple grass roots level.

Guide to determining your division:
Professional - These are the most skilled players in Disc Golf. Experience usually runs a minimum of (5) or more years with some older players with (20+) years. Part of their Professional status includes the responsibility for "passing the torch" by teaching other players the correct course etiquette and behaviour along with the rules and standards of tournament play. Virtually all Professional Disc Golf players are members of the Professional Disc Golf Association. Professional players typically compete for monetary prizes*.
Advanced - These players are usually long time players of (3+ years) and regularly score under par. Many are active PDGA members and play organized tournaments as well.
Intermediate - Most of these players have a few years of experience (1-3) but don't consistently play under par. Some will be active PDGA members and most will have played organized tournaments.
Recreational - Just like it sounds - these players play casually, sometimes a few times a week, but lack competitve training and rarely play under par. These players might not even be aware of the PDGA or it's rules that govern play.
Novice - Strictly for new players that have either never played or just a handful of times.
Junior - Reserved for players under 17 years old. Skill levels typically of the Recreational or Novice divisions.

* The Tour del Sol will only pay cash prizes to 1st, 2nd and 3rd in the Pro division. All other prizes will be paid in merchandise vouchers. This is used to prevent true Amateur players from taking advantage of the Tour del Sol's non-PDGA sanctioned status and playing for cash. Amateur Disc Golf players do not play for cash.

Confirmed Players as of 7/23/10 - Melbourne
